Tornado Medical is looking to add a Test Engineer to their Thunder Bay team. The successful candidate will report to our Head of Quality and Regulatory Affairs with direct collaboration with Lead Systems Engineer. Duties and responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the Systems Engineer to plan, develop, and execute system integration and verification plans.
- Collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure all requirements are testable.
- Work with Design Engineers in the review of sub-system and unit-level verification test plans.
- Ensure all test protocols have an appropriate level of testing and they trace back to their design requirements.
- Keep track of what test tools and test resources (internal or external) are needed ahead of time to ensure the design efforts stay within their defined timeline.
- Design and implement test tools and fixtures to facilitate automated and systematic testing.
- Champion the deployment of a bug/issue tracking system that will be compliant with the product development processes adopted at Tornado Medical Systems.
- Utilize above system to systematically track issues and follow up with Design Engineers in the appropriate resolution of the issues.
- Work in collaboration with Clinical Liaison to ensure that expectations for planned clinical studies are met through system validation and regression testing.
- Systematically track versions and configurations throughout testing.
- Other related duties as required will be assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Degree in Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
- Diploma in these fields is accepted if supplemented with appropriate experience.
- At least two years of experience (or equivalent co-op experience) establishing and executing system- level testing successfully.
Beneficial Experience
- Familiarity with integrating software, hardware,and mechanical systems a must.
- Bug/issue tracking systems, such as Redmine, Trac, Bugzilla.
- Prior experience in regulated industries such as the medical device industry is considered an asset.
- Self-driven member with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Should be a team player with the right attitude towards resolving system issues with Design Engineers and all stakeholders.
