Dr. Jae Kim —
Jae Kim brings over a decade of experience in clinical radiology and medical imaging to the company. As a Director of Sentinelle Medical since its beginning, Dr. Kim was instrumental in building Sentinelle into the world’s largest independent manufacturer of MRI coils. In August, 2010, SMI was acquired by Hologic (HOLX) for $85M plus contingent earn-out.
Dr. Kim holds S.M. and S.B. degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT. He received his PhD in Medical Biophysics (MRI Physics) in 1995 and his MD in 1997 from the University of Toronto. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Tomography (CT, MR) at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2003. He has been board-certified since 2002. He is the author of numerous publications relating to cardiac imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, magnetic resonance angiography, and also holds several US patents in MRI.
Dr. Gordon Cheung —
Dr. Cheung is Medical Director of MRI/CT at CML HealthCare, one of the largest medical imaging practices in Canada. He is Consultant in Medical Imaging, Division of Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre; and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. From 1990 to 2003, Dr. Cheung was the Clinical Director of MRI at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Jeff Courtney —
Jeff has more than 30 years experience in the life sciences industry with in-depth expertise across multiple sectors in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, business development, marketing, sales and venture investing. Mostly recently Jeff was a General Partner with VG Partners.
Jeff also served as a Partner and Co-President of the Scientific Advisory Board at CDP Capital-Technology Ventures, President of Hospital Pharmaceuticals at Faulding Canada Inc., EVP Marketing and Sales for Pharmascience Inc., and held senior leadership roles with Johnson and Johnson Medical Products. He has served as a Director on the boards of multiple private and public Canadian and U.S. life sciences companies, including VisualSonics Inc., Targanta Therapeutics Inc., and Interface Biologics Inc.
Dr. Arthur Rosenthal —
Dr. Rosenthal has spent more than 38 years exclusively developing medical technologies as both a senior technology executive in several large global medtech companies and as a serial entrepreneur. He currently serves as Non Executive Director of Cyberonics, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYBX) of Houston, Texas, Executive Vice Chairman of Cappella, Inc., a medical device company focused on coronary artery disease, Chair of Interface Biologics, Inc., a Toronto-based developer of novel biomedical polymers and Chair of Arch Therapeutics, Natick, Massachusetts. He has previously served as Chairman (cofounder) & CEO of Labcoat Ltd. of Galway, Ireland, Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Boston Scientific Corporation, VP of R&D for Johnson & Johnson Medical, and VP R&D at C.R. Bard, Inc.
Dr. Rosenthal is a Fellow of AIMBE and holds an appointment as Professor of Practice, Department of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, directing biomedical translational research activities. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts.
